The local Continuum of Care provides funds for Permanent Supportive Housing, Rapid Re-Housing, and Shared Housing solutions for families with children and chronically homeless persons, who represent some of the most vulnerable populations in our community. The CoC also supports our functions as the local Homeless Management Information System Lead Agency.
San Joaquin County, through its Health Services department, Human Services Agency, First5 program, Behavioral Health Services department, and Public Health department, provides funds for Homelessness Prevention, Permanent Supportive Housing, Rapid Re-Housing, Case Management, and other Support Services. These projects support families with children, families without children, persons with severe mental health and substance abuse needs, chronically homeless persons, seniors in the care of Adult Protective Services, and persons with an HIV-AIDS diagnosis. The County also supports our functions as the local Homeless Management Information System Lead Agency.
The City of Stockton, provides funds for Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing for families with children and families without children. The City also supports our functions as the local Homeless Management Information System Lead Agency. Stockton is a critical partner in the Town Center Studios permanent supportive housing development for the chronically homeless, which is funded in part through Project Homekey.
Dignity Health is a significant funder and service partner in the Town Center Studios permanent supportive housing development for the chronically homeless. Dignity has provided crucial gap funding that has helped the project stay on track and as of January 2022 provide 20 units of housing.
Enterprise Foundation is a significant funder in the Town Center Studios permanent supportive housing development for the chronically homeless, supplying the initial operating subsidy allowing us to open 20 units of permanent housing in January 2022 and another 20 planned for February 2024. Enterprise also has provided additional capacity-building support to help us plan for future projects to provide more housing to homeless persons in our community.
CZI has provided capacity-building support to help us plan for future projects to provide more housing to homeless persons in our community, including funding to get off the ground and into operation the Town Center Studios permanent supportive housing development for the chronically homeless.
STAND is a partner on several CVLIHC projects, including the Town Center Studios permanent supportive housing project, the Turnpike Commons permanent supportive housing project, and the Progressive Housing transitional housing project. STAND provides property management services with a mission-driven, crisis-intervention approach to help our formerly homeless households remain in housing and avoid returns to the street. STAND also operates several affordable housing and homeownership programs separate from its partnerships with CVLIHC.
HACSJ and its nonprofit development arm, DCDC, is a partner on several CVLIHC projects, including the completed Turnpike Commons permanent supportive housing project and the under-construction Calaveras Quarters permanent housing project, which is funded by a Homekey Round 2 award. HACSJ has also been instrumental in supporting dozens of CVLIHC-assisted households obtain Housing Choice Vouchers, ensuing they have affordable housing for the long haul and increasing their self-sufficiency after their experiences of homelessness.
